Yudanaka Cultural Experience

Whether you are a couple wanting to see more of this amazing town you are staying in, or if you are a family/group wanting to have a memorable experience together being guided around some of Nagano’s greatest cultural attractions.

  • Start off the day by seeing the world famous Snow Monkeys at the Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park.

  • After the Monkeys have a guided walkthrough of Shibu Onsen one of Japan’s oldest and most culturally significant towns filled with centuries old Ryokans and Onsens, a perfect look at Japanese architecture.

  • In Shibu Onsen we will stop at Yamonuchi Coffee for a pastry and coffee made by a world class local barista.

  • After taking in all of Shibu Onsens beauty we will then venture to the World Peace Statue and temple, in which we can see the bronze Buddha statue and venture through the temple for a truly spiritual experience

Once your tour of Yudanaka and Shibu Onsen is complete we will then take a quick 25 minute drive to the historic town of Obuse to see the amazing Edo Period architecture and the amazing Hokusai Museum amongst exploring other amazing attractions.

  • In Obuse we will arrive at the Hokusai Museum and have a look at some of the greatest art ever made in Japan.

  • After exploring the Hokusai Museum we will the have a walk through the beautiful township of Obuse and explore the stores, shrines and local Sake Brewery

  • In Obuse we can also visit the famous Obusedo Sanpuro Dessert Store which specializes in chestnut flavored desserts, of which Obuse is famous for.

  • There are many options for places we can go after the Obuse‍ town experience, such as the Gansho-In Temple , Jokoji Temple and many other shrines, museums and nature walks, as this area has so many different options for exploration and sight-seeing, this part of the tour will be “played by air” and also up to what the guests feel like doing.
